Schneider Downs is proud to once again support the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) as it recognizes International Fraud Awareness Week.
Join us as we pull back the curtain on the seedy world of celebrity fraud, where glitz and glamour often overshadow darker truths. We’ll delve into tales that read like a Hollywood drama but, unfortunately for the victims, are more fact than fiction.
As we dig into these riveting stories, we'll unravel the layers of deceit and consequences that define the frauds of the rich and famous, and that are, unfortunately, also present in frauds involving “regular” businesses and people.
We have a long and established role in the fraud investigation and awareness field: we have performed numerous investigations over the years, and we sponsor the annual Fraud and Corruption Awareness Seminar each year. Our Consulting group includes several Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) and board members of the Greater Pittsburgh chapter of the ACFE.
In recognition of Fraud Week, a few of the CFEs in our group have written Our Thoughts On articles highlighting some of the more high profile fraud cases in recent history. Please see the following links for the articles:
While Fraud Week may only be featured once a year, the professionals in our Consulting group help to rewrite the script for our clients by educating, assisting, and preparing them throughout the year to address their unique fraud concerns.
International Fraud Awareness Week, or Fraud Week, was established by the ACFE in 2000 as a dedicated time to raise awareness about fraud. The week-long campaign encourages business leaders and employees to proactively take steps to minimize the impact of fraud by promoting anti-fraud awareness and education.
Our experienced team of business advisors leverage their experience and industry expertise to maximize value and minimize risk during acquisitions, litigation, arbitration, corporate reorganization and other major business transactions and transitions. Our team of experienced business advisors includes Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFFs) and Certified Mergers and Acquisition Advisors (CM&AAs).
