A Postcard From COPAS

Last week, the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS),  hosted its latest chapter meeting at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, where local industry experts discussed a variety of current events impacting the oil and gas industry.

The outlook of the tri-state market for oil and gas was covered by Shawn Bennet of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and Brittany Ramos of Cabot Oil & Gas. In addition, Daniel Nossa of Steptoe & Johnson, PLLC, provided an in-depth discussion on financial derivatives and their use and impact on the industry. Finally, members learned about the new and ever-evolving cybersecurity threats that target the industry and received an update on the Trump and GOP tax reform plans from Chris Debo and Jessica Murtha of Schneider Downs.

The chapter meeting concluded with a networking lunch and golf scramble.
