The deadline for filing the employee copies of the new ACA Forms 1094 and Forms 1095 is March 31, 2016!
If you are an employer with at least 50 full-time employees, including full-time equivalent employees, you need to complete a Form 1095-C for each full-time employee and a Form 1094-C transmittal. Remember to look at entities under common ownership when counting full-time employees and full-time employee equivalents to see if you are subject to this filing requirement!
If you are an employer with less than 50 full-time employees but you have a self-insured health plan, you need to complete a Form 1095-B for every covered employee and complete a Form 1094-B transmittal.
The forms are complicated and will take some time to complete. If you are preparing in-house and have not started the process, you cannot put off any longer or you may miss the deadline and incur penalties!
