Back in May when I started my internship, I didn’t know much about the business world, and, a week later, I found myself traveling to New York to meet a client.
Although I was very nervous at first, my seniors and managers always made sure I was comfortable and capable of doing what I was doing.
Getting Started
Before I even started, I met with my buddy and senior to get coffee and discuss traveling and to go over any questions I had in general about the internship. It was that day that I realized what an incredible, friendly and welcoming environment I would be working in.
Becoming Part of the Team
Something I love about the people at Schneider Downs is their willingness to answer questions. Feeling awkward or like you are being a bother about asking lots of questions is inevitable, but everyone who I worked with was more than happy to answer all my questions and even encouraged me to ask anything! Being able to feel comfortable asking questions made the learning curve much less intimidating.
In addition to that, grabbing coffee, eating lunch with coworkers and even joining the RAS Women’s Golf League made me quickly feel like I was a part of the team. Everyone was always so welcoming and friendly; it truly is the perfect work atmosphere.
By the end of my internship, I can confidently say I learned more than I ever could have anticipated in the best way possible. Starting my career at Schneider Downs was the best decision I have ever made!
