Schneider Downs’ Construction Practice Ranked Once Again

Last year, Construction Executive (CE) unveiled its inaugural ranking of the Top 50 construction accounting firms.  In August, CE released its second annual rankings, and Schneider Downs once again appears in the Top 50.  Schneider Downs has offices in Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus, OH and Washington, DC from which it provides services to over 120 construction clients.  Ranked at #24, Schneider Downs is the only firm on the list headquartered in Pittsburgh.

“We’re very proud of the construction industry practice that Schneider Downs has developed, and we will continue to challenge ourselves to deliver value-added professional services our clients, who are the reason we’re on that list,” noted Mark DiPietrantonio, Schneider Downs tax shareholder and construction industry practice leader.

CE surveyed hundreds of U.S. construction accounting firms and determined the rankings utilizing an algorithm on the following factors:

  • 2019 revenues from construction practice;
  •  number of CPAs in the construction practice;
  • percentage of firm’s total revenues from construction practice;
  • number of construction clients in 2019;
  • number of office locations with a construction accounting practice;
  • number of employees with CCIFP certification; and
  • year construction accounting practice established.

CE’s publication also included the practice areas served by the firms in the rankings.  Among others, Schneider Downs provides the following services that CE noted are most relevant to companies in the construction industry:

  • Audit, Accounting and Assurance
  • Tax Preparation
  • Employee Benefit Plans
  • Litigation Support/Expert Testimony
  • Fraud Investigations
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Succession Planning
  • Risk Management
  • Business Planning
  • Bookkeeping
  • Valuation Services
  • Forensic Accounting
  • Family Office Services
  • Wealth Management
  • Surety Bonding Assistance
